Consecutive interpreting

The spoken words are rendered into the other language after a pause.

The spoken words are rendered into the other language after a pause and longer sequences are transferred from one language into another. The interpreter notes down the speaker’s words applying a specific note-taking technique. This mode of interpreting is used e.g. at after-dinner speeches, receptions and smaller press conferences.

As organiser you should take into consideration that the interpretation requires the same amount of time as does the speech itself.
